Actually had some stuff going on in the last month. My most excellent wife got me a number of things for the car! I now have wind wings, AC pedals, quickjack bushings and a Cobra Parking Only sign! Woohoo! Also, the New Years Day cruise I spoke about was a huge turnout. We had 13 cars, I believe, drive into downtown DC in 29 degree weather. It turned out sunny though so that helped. We really had a great time and I look forward to doing it again next year.
Last weekend had it’s good and it’s bad. Wrecked the truck again. Got caught out in the snow and lost it on a turn on a hill. Went into a ditch and screwed up the front. ARGH! At least we didn’t hit anyone. The good news was that on Sunday I sold the mustang. Finally! Got $450 for it which is less than what I was looking for but I think still reasonable considering the condition it was in. Almost enough to pay for the deductible on the truck.
I’m kinda pumped now to get started on the car. Now that we can get the Accord back in the garage some of that pressure is off of my shoulders. Ang was great about it but I know she was getting tired of having it outside. Also means I have some room to work on things now. First couple of things is getting the front arms taken care of, the driveshaft shortened and starting the engine cleanup. The front arms will need to have the bushings and possibly the ball joint replaced. Plus they need to be cleaned up. Not sure if I’m going to take them somewhere to get them sandblasted yet. Might just try to wire sand them and then paint them. We’ll see. I’m also anxious to see what shape the engine is in once I start getting it cleaned up. More pics to come after the weekend I’m sure.
